FLOYD ENERGY FEST

SolShine Energy Alternatives, LLC has been proud to participate in the annual Floyd Energy Fest since its inception in 2017. A total immersion into the world of solar and geothermal energy, electric transportation, and high-performance homes, this event includes featured speakers (including SolShine owner, Rick Brown, who hosts a solar workshop each year), exhibits, local food, fascinating presentations and workshops, tours of Apple Ridge Farms, a kid zone and so much more.

Although this year’s in-person event has been canceled, a virtual event is in the works. Please let us know if you would like us to notify you when we have more details about this year’s Floyd Energy Fest event.

SustainFloyd Solar Wagon

Have you heard of the Voltzwagon? This mobile solar generator was built by SustainFloyd with the help of volunteers including our own Rick Brown, as a valuable tool in educating Floyd County adults and children about the benefits of renewable energy. The generator is also used to power the Floyd Farmers Market, other outdoor events such as weddings and festivals, and to provide power during power outages.

The mobile generator includes:
+ 6 245W multi-crystalline solar electric (PV) modules resulting in 1470W of generating power
+ A 3500W pure sine wave inverter
+ 21.6Kwh of battery storage
+ 120/240V AC Outlets
+ USB outlets for powering/charging portable electronics

If you are interested in renting the Voltzwagon for your next event please contact SustainFloyd or visit them online here.
